Wilson Curtis Jr., MA, PLPC

Founder & CEO, Gateway 2 Healing

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in the mental health and substance use fields, Wilson Curtis is a passionate advocate for recovery and trauma healing. As the Founder and CEO of Gateway 2 Healing, Wilson has committed his life’s work to helping individuals navigate their darkest moments and find a clear, empowering direction toward a healthier future. Wilson holds a Master’s degree in Community Counseling and operates as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) under supervision in the state of Missouri. He is a deeply humanistic therapist who believes in meeting clients exactly where they are. Recognizing that no two healing journeys are the same, Wilson utilizes a wide array of therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of each individual, with a profound focus on resolving past traumas.

Throughout his expansive career, Wilson has served diverse populations across a variety of clinical and community settings. His background includes impactful work in community health centers, private practice, and methadone clinics. He has also worked within the educational system as an elementary school therapist and provided specialized counseling for the unhoused population battling Substance Use Disorders (SUD). Currently, Wilson provides critical therapy services to the Children’s Division, as well as the 16th District Courts for Probation and Parole in Kansas City, Missouri. A highly credentialed expert in his field, Wilson possesses a robust portfolio of specialized certifications that allow him to offer comprehensive, trauma-informed care.

We are currently accepting self-pay and Medicaid clients, and offer a limited number of sliding scale spots.
